FounderPercilla Frizzell is a 2018 Echoing Green global fellow and recently recognized by Fast Company for founding a World Changing Idea in the social justice, experimental and general excellence categories. Sacred Generations is a Native-led movement organizing system-impacted tribal communities to end educational inequity, mass incarceration and climate injustice. Percilla graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a master’s degree in education. After teaching students and coaching educators, Percilla studied organizing and policy leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School and recently learned trial advocacy at UC Davis School of Law. Percilla manages a portfolio of systems change strategies including leading healing spaces in prisons, movement building with system-impacted families and coaching social impact entrepreneurs.

FacultyWhile completing her masters thesis at CSU Stanislaus, Stephanie Charbonneau began volunteering in prisons. Afterwards, she became the lead evaluator producing data analysis and reports for dozens of community organizations and government agencies in San Joaquin county. Stephanie has trained hundreds of currently and formerly incarcerated people to become peacekeeper facilitators. In addition, she delivers severe mental health case management services in Stockton while contributing to public education and awareness for the Council on Criminal Justice and Behavioral Health at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Stephanie also organizes trainings for the Forensic Mental Health Association of California and provides evaluation consulting services for social impact organizations while pursuing her doctorate degree in Psychology.

FacultyErika Hermosillo leads teacher leadership development at Teach For America in her home community. After growing up in the Central Valley, Erika graduated from the University of the Pacific with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in elementary education. Upon returning home to coach educators after teaching kindergarten in the midwest, she contributes to a network of educators fueling the local equity movement by supporting a force of equity advocates inside and outside the classroom after training hundreds of new teachers across the Central Valley. Erika invests her creative genius into designing innovative and inclusive leadership experiences for adult learners through a diverse set of education spaces and advocacy platforms.
